PIN began operations as an organization that exclusively delivered humanitarian assistance. Fourteen years have passed since the first shipment of assistance was sent to Nagorno Karabakh and PIN has significantly expanded the scope and scale of its work. PIN now provides emergency and rehabilitation assistance after natural disasters and military conflicts and carries out projects of long-term development assistance. PIN now works in fourteen countries in Asia, Europe and Africa on complex programs that focus on education and health care, access to clean drinking water and hygiene and support for sustainable livelihoods. PIN’s activities also focus on social care and on the development of civil society

The humanitarian assistance and development department is also active in the Czech Republic and helped thousands of affected families after the floods of 1997, 2002 and 2006.
